The job of these small capillaries is to let the blood deliver valuable oxygen and nutrients to cells and to remove waste products. These fragile vessels are responsible for bruising, flushed skin, and other skin conditions when damaged. Your body can repair capillaries at an astonishing rate, which is excellent since they are so often damaged throughout our daily lives, but under certain conditions the body can’t repair the damage to the capillaries and they begin to die.

You have 60,000 miles of vessels in the body, and you have moving blood cells in every portion of that busy road map. When a capillary dies, it is effectively a road closing. The blood that would normally travel that route is forced onto a different road and the congestion increases. This is the cause of most cases of high blood pressure; the same amount of blood flowing through a reduced number of blood vessels.
